“What a thrill it is to experience history in such a unique way.”

For nearly 17 years I have been working for Collectors Universe, one of the premier rare collectibles companies in the United States. In that time I’ve photographed some stunning cultural treasures with our PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) division. My images have been utilized by news and media organizations, and I’ve been referred to as an “Industry Rockstar” (although I tend not to think of myself in such boastful terms). As PCGS Manager of Photography, I have diverse team of a dozen individuals that is growing to meet the demands of the collectibles industry, and my commitment is to assure the quality photography our clients expect.

I have always had a keen interest in history and art ever since I was a child growing up in London, Ontario, Canada. With these pursuits in mind, I attended the city’s foremost post-secondary school, Western University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts, 2002). From there, venturing out into the world, I moved to Victoria, British Columbia, where I obtained a diploma in Graphic Design from Pacific Design Academy. I’ve worked as a freelance illustrator in London, England, and spent some time as a language instructor in Karlsruhe, Germany, all before coming to Southern California in 2005 where I started a career in photography and video, became a devoted husband, and amateur house cat wrangler.

I have been fortunate to have my hobbies and personal interests intersect into a successful career, and I still wonder at the fascinating objects I see day in and day out. What a thrill it is to experience history in such a unique way.
